Built at Castle Bromwich as LF.Vb with c/n CBAF.2461. Taken on charge by the RAF in 0442. Delivered to 37 MU on 260542; Allocated to 315 (Deblinski) Sq in 0542. Transferred to 317 (Wilenski) Sq in 0942; coded 'JH-C' on .... Damaged (Cat. B) in landing accident on 130243; Under repair at DeHavillands (...). To Vickers-Armstrong for modifications and development work (...) To 33 MU (...) To 39 MU (...) To 222 MU (...) To 58 OTU in 0445, serving until 1045. Wfu in 1045 and relegated to ground instructional duties at RAF St. Athan; Maintenance serial 5718M allocated. To No. 4 SoTT, RAF St. Athan. On display at gate of RAF Hednesford (1952-1954). To RAF Bridgenorth (...), noted there in the late '50s until closure of the station. To RAF Church Fenton in 1964; RAF Church Fenton, gate, ‘PR-O’, 609 Sq. (...), in Maintenance serial 5718M in place of serial BM597. Surveyed for use in Battle of Britain movie production in 1967; Noted at Pinewood Studios (...). Used as 'pattern a/c' for the production of fibre glass models. Returned to RAF Church Fenton in 1969; As gate guard with 609 Sq code 'PR-O' and serial BM597. To RAF Linton-on-Ouse as gate guard (1975-1979. Sold to T.Routsis/Historic Flying Ltd., Audley End. (5718M). stored at Braintree, before moving to new HFL facility at Audley End (310792). Noted in store there in 0992. ‘JH-C’, 317 Sq. Aw 0598. Sold to Historic Aircraft Collection, Duxford in 1093; Reg. G-MKVB on ... Ff from Audley End on 200797. Noted at Duxford 170899. ‘AR352/RF-C’, Pearl Harbor film, 0900. As ‘BM593/JH-O’ on 230204 for “Foyle’s War” filming. Flown to Malta as part of 'Merlins over Malta' project in 0905; Painted in dark blue overall c/s coded 'U-2'. To Poland in 0610 to meet two of her WWII pilots S/L Franciszek Kornicki and F/L Jerzy Mencel.
